Met with Roger Jarrett of DVPE to go over progress:
1. DD package was delivered on time as a single line drawing
2. Discussed band practice room and possible ventilation ideas
3. Roger indicated pool heater issue has been settled. The existing pool heater will remain as a backup
4. They will specify Titus and Price as vav box suppliers
5. The new connecting corridor will be conditioned with a blower coil
6. VAV air handler for band area will be in new second floor equipment room
7. There will be an outdoor air intake louver adjacent to the main entrance in the new addition.
8. Drawings will be completed by end of May on schedule.

March 26, 2009Met with Roger Jarrett of DVPE to discuss progress on the new Middle School and High School remodel as follows:High School
1. June 8 is bid date - they are currently working on drawings and will meet scheduled dates
2. We discussed the construction on possible air conditioning of prebuilt band practice rooms.
3. Equipment rooms have been located as follows;a. VAV air handler for band areab. VAV air handler for office area
4. Discussed including connecting pool heat in JR HS to DHRC chiller
5. Discussed adding fan coil unit to the server area currently served by Zone 10 of AHU 13 in the high school
6. Wet side economizer and condenser warm up in the bid.
7. Roger will visit the job Friday 3/27 and will contact Jim Bachman for some guidance in the building.New MS1. Reiterated the problems with the 2200 cfm Temspec units at the high school2. There are some large computer rooms in the new building which must be considered.Thanks

Signing in to initiate blog responses. Will continue contact with VPDE this week to continue working on pre bid commissioning. We have discussed the tc issues, the problem with Temspec 2000 units and wet side economizer for ms remodel and new middle school.Kurt 3/14/09

Administrative Area:

Reviewed the Administrative Area redesign as proposed by Dr. Krueger. INFO

The treasurer’s office and the Teacher’s Workroom are to be located East of the proposed Main Entrance. The east side Mechanical Room shall be accessed from the vestibule. Access into the Safe Room shall be thru the Teacher’s Workroom as directed by the Treasurer. There will not be a door connecting the Treasurer’s Office and the Safe Room All remaining Administrative spaces to be located West of the Main Entrance.

Principal and Vice Principals Offices are to be grouped together along the new North exterior wall. Each office shall have a window to the North. The Vice-Principals Offices shall have a door connecting the two offices. The Principal’s Office shall be located next to the Administrative Assistants Area. Principal’s office shall include a 4’x4’ whiteboard, and the door shall be located next to the Administrative Assistants Area. Principal and Vice-Principal’s Offices to have storage and shelving. KVSC to determine if they will be built-ins, new or used furniture.

The School Resource Officer’s Office shall be located in the Southwest corner of the Administrative Area. The office shall have two (2) doorways into it with one (1) being directly from the Hallway. A closet will be provided within this office. All walls in the SRO shall be masonry.

Provide a Coat Storage Area and both Male and Female Restrooms in the Administrative Area.

The west wall countertop in the Administrative Assistant’s Area shall be 36” high. Other countertops to have min 42” high separation wall with Handicap access between Administrative Assistant’s Area and Waiting Area.

There shall be windows from both the Administrative Assistant’s area and the Treasurer’s Office into the vestibule. Provide security buzzers for the Entry doors from each Admin Assistant workstation and the Treasurer’s desk.

The Attendance Office shall be located in the Southeast corner of the West Administration Area. It shall have direct access to the Administrative Waiting Area and shall have a ½ glass wall separating it from the Waiting Area.

Reviewed Band Suite and 3-D sketches. VOA to relocate Recording Room Door to center of the room’s rear wall. This window will provide a view thru the Recording Room from the Director’s Office into the Band Room.

Acoustical Engineer may be consulted for the Band Room during design or after construction to test/monitor the room for sound quality. Recommendations for adjustment can be made after review. Owner to hire Acoustical Consultant directly.

Reviewed storage requirements for instruments, uniforms and equipment. VOA shall prepare a study showing locker and storage unit layout. Lockers to have solid doors. Ken Steidle to review list of locker sizes and provide revised list to VOA.

Reviewed the Locker Room plan. There were no changes requested to the proposed plan.

General Notes:

All hallway walls to be masonry. Office walls not on the perimeter of the Office Suite may be of metal stud with drywall. All offices shall be provided with sound insulation.

VOA and the KV folks met today and a new plan was approved by the staff for the administration area. VOA will draw up the new plans with more detail.

The gym, locker rooms, band etc are nearly totally complete.
