Gymnasium – Dr. Krueger, Randy Grassick, Shaun Dougherty, Ken Gurtowski and Scott Falk

3.01
The replacement of the existing bleachers in the Gymnasium was discussed. Due to code compliance issues, replacement of the Mezzanine level bleachers becomes problematic. When the project is bid, the primary bid will call for replacement of the Gym floor level bleachers. At the Mezzanine level, the primary bid shall be to refurbish the existing bleachers. Power, handrails, aisles and seat caps can be added to the existing bleachers. Architect to verify location of all hand and guard rails. Alternate Bids shall be requested to replace the upper level bleachers in the same configuration as the existing. (This will require a variance from State of Indiana. The Architects informed KVSC that obtaining a variance is not guaranteed.)

Note: Dr. Krueger requested that a second Alternate Bid be obtained to install new bleachers at the second level per the Code requirements. This layout would require not incorporating the fixed bleachers above the staircases, into the design.
